Devin jumping a 21" box with one leg due to a sprained ankle...
CP with some solid push presses at Rxd 55# weight!

W.O.D. 6.22.09
AMRAP in an unknown amount of time...
9 Box Jumps
15 Push Press (55#/75#)
21 Sit-ups

What is your mental approach to an AMRAP WOD?

Do you go out of the gate hard? Trail off towards the end? Push harder to get the last round knowing time is almost up? Push less knowing you are only half way finished? Fiddle with your watch? Get an extra drink? Take an extra pause? Stare at the clock after each round....hummm. Well, today's WOD has an unknown time domain. What approach will you take?

Note: All classes will have a different AMRAP time, so please no harassing the 9:30 AM class to give up the secret.

Love it! I've been thinking about stuff like this (random interval timers, wods with 'unknown' movements, unknown break times, challenges, surprises, etc.) alot lately as a way to break free from mental hindrances.

Later this week when I expect to be travelling, I'm gonna give a try to what I came up with (it's hard to make things unknown when your making up your own wod) and -- depending on how it goes -- I'll let you know how it goes.

Hmm this should be interesting - I tend to push harder at the end to get through the last round, and I try to go full force for the whole wod....but if you don't know if its going to be 3 mins or 23 mins, this is going to be an interesting experiment.

Kit - great to have you here while you could be here. I'll hopefully make it back over to the box tonight at 8:30 to share in the celebration :)

The hungry for change movie includes some information from a book I just read, called Omnivore's Dilemma, by Michael Pollan. If anyone would like to borrow it, let me know, I only ask that you return it after you're done reading it. Warning, it will change the way you look at food!
