FREE-Open Gym Reminder

This Thursday, November 4th from 5pm-6pm will start our 1st Thursday of the Month Open Gym time. An Open Gym is an hour where the gym is open for you to select a WOD of your choice or work on a skill. There will be a CrossFit Coach available but no structured warm-up/WOD or cool-down. All CFKoP members are welcome.

Let me know what WOD's you peeps are planning on doing...I'm game for any.
Thanks!
Nikki ~ could you think of a short metcon for me to do, then I could work on some strength?

Miranda, why not do a baseline and then strength?

Tip of the Week:

Strength fitness is very resilient so you can maintain it by doing resistance exercises as infrequently as once a week. (for example, todays deadlift WOD)
Cardiovascular fitness can reverse itself very quickly, sometimes within just a few days.

If you have to stop your training, you can maintain your fitness improvements by keeping the INTENSITY of your workouts constant while reducing their frequency or duration.......

Sounds like CROSSFIT to me.

What are these "baselines" I keep hearing about?

Jeff said...

Charles, the baseline is (for time): 500m row, 40 squats, 30 situps, 20 pushups, 10 pullups. There is a chart on the wall for everyone's numbers. It is a good way to see progress as your time comes down (and form improves). Ask Jim C or Donkey some time about their experiences with the baseline!
