Tonight I had the class put up their own scores, weights,rx and scales.
We cannot hammer home enough the standards for RX pushups. Doing them correctly will make you better physcially and if you want to be a competitior at any level, you will be ready for the day when you have a judge counting your reps.
If you're not sure about your push ups, ask a coach to give you feedback after a WOD. If a coach gives you a cue mid wod to fix something, attempt to do it, and also talk to that coach after especially if you don't understand or don't think you are doing what they say. Sometimes what we think we are doing is not the same thing as what we are actually doing. I can't tell you how many times I thought I was doing something one way and then saw the video or photo and was like...omg!
Chest touches the ground
Body moves in one line in plank position (without push off of quads)
full extension of the elbow at the top.
These standards are the same for push ups on the knees. Except for the line is shorter. However, I believe there are much better scales than the knee push up to move you to the RX push. Incline pushups (box/bench/wall), banded pushups, and coming to a plank at the top of a knee pushup. Glad to show anyone, any time :)
