Tabata Intervals ( 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated 8 times) is applied in turn to the Squat, Rower, Pullups, Sit-ups, and Push-ups with a one minute rotation break between exercises. Each exercise is scored by the weakest number of reps (calories on the rower) in each of the eight intervals. During the one minute rotation time allowed the clock is not stopped but kept running. The score is the total of the scores from the five stations.

Scoring Example:
A total score of 53 (Execllent score, BTW) is determined by adding up the lowest number of reps in any set of each exercise.

Camaraderie & CrossFit
In my eyes this photo is rather fitting from a few perspectives; it not only shows the level of camaraderie between gyms/affiliate owners but also the growth and potential in the community for expansion. Some of you may remember when I was starting out I trained at CrossFit Generation under the watchful eye of Barry (pictured in the photo). Congratulations to Team Kop who finished the Mid-Atlantic CF Regional in 8th place overall. We made it to day three which was an awesome feat in itself and meant we were one of the top 10 teams coming out of day 2. The team was comprised of Nikki, Aimee, Cate, John, Mike V & Danny. All athletes qualified to be on the team through the open sectional process.

Team Task Priority Fight Gone Bad

In a team of 5 athletes you must complete 20 reps of each exercise in FGB. The team cannot rotate until the next station until each athlete is finished at their station. Rest 1 minute between each round. 3 rounds are completed for total time.

CrossFit KoP Endurance Class

The CFKoP Endurance Class will be held twice monthly. The dates, times and locations will vary according to the workout. Sometimes the WOD will be at the local Upper Merion High School Track, sometimes it will be on the river trail over the bridge, and sometimes it will be around own home box location. We will post the dates/locations early in the month. This will count as a regular class towards your 2x/3x or unlimited membership.

June CFEndurance Class:
Tuesday June 7th at 6:30PM (meet at the box)
Wednesday June 22nd at 5:30PM (meet at the box)

CrossFit Endurance Description:
This class will allow CrossFit Athletes to still CrossFit and compete in endurance sports and bring a standard to running, swimming, and cycling. This class will give an opportunity for endurance athletes to learn another significant way to effectively train for any event they wish to compete in. We will build on increasing your lung capacity through various interval workouts.


Community Reminders:
This Thursday (6/2) is the first Thursday of the month which means we are hosting an OPEN gym from 5:00PM-6:30PM.

The next Running Workshop with Ambassador Coach Pappas starts Thursday 6/2 at 6:45pm and 6/16 & 6/23 (Cost $50).

Due to the Regional CF Games we will have the following modifications to the schedule this week:

There will be NO Kids class on Thursday at 3:45 PM or Sunday at 11:00PM.

Friday evening the 6:30PM class will be cancelled.
