100 Burpees, Pull-ups or Double Unders
Essentially, it starts with doing 1 Burpee/Pull-up/Double Under on day one, and then adding 1 Burpee/Pull-up/Double Under for each subsequent day. On day two you will perform two Burpees/Pull-ups/Double Unders, then on day three, perform three Burpees/Pull-ups/Double Unders, and so on, up to the 100th day. All must be completed in succession. This will NOT count as your WOD, you will need to accomplish your Burpees/Pull-ups/Double Unders either prior to or after the WOD. Burpees/Pull-ups/Double Unders can be performed at home, HONOR SYSTEM! Be true to yourself!
100 DOUBLE UNDERS
Double Unders must be performed without pause. Jump in between is allowed.
100 PULL-UPS/BURPEES
Pull-ups/Burpees must be completed in succession with only a 5 second rest to come off the bar or rest between Burpee Reps.

ReplyDeleteThanks!!
Jim-You can choose 1 or all 3...I would strongly reccomend choosing one...by day 50-100 things are gonna get tough and you want to be able to accomplish what you sign up for...soooooo...ur call :) one two or three :)
ReplyDeleteHey I found this online ... Thought it was really cool

Steph- I have the "Every Second Counts" movie you can borrow if you would like to.
ReplyDeletei'm in for the 100 DU challenge. and if it's ok can i do a modified pull up challenge? i was thinking of making it 50 pull ups instead of 100, and doing them every other day... unless that would be considered punking out!?!
ReplyDeleteLooks like we may have some more jump rope casualties... What happens if you hit say Day 25 and you can't do 25 in a row (of whatever challenge you're trying)? Are you done? Do you keep trying the next day but don't increase until you get the 25 consecutive reps? So Day 100 - is November 5th, anyone done the math yet?
ReplyDeleteif you dont get the 25 in a row, i am pretty sure you are done. i think the money is being used to buy drink for a party anyway so there really are no losers. since i heart math, the total reps you will do if you get through day 100 is 5050. OUCH! to those attempting the burpee challenge, by mindful of your joints. i have heard of people trying this and getting tendinitis and what have you. definitely try to do it but if you feel something happening, i would definitely stop.
ReplyDeletei will do the du's and i hppe that i can make it. 50 is a record for me right now. doubling that will be hard.
Yep, so on day 25 if you do not complete 25 of whichever you choose you are "technically" out of the competition. That doesn't mean you should stop practicing the skill you were working on though!
ReplyDeleteSo, sounds like everyone should mark their calendars for the 5th of November, it falls on a Thursday, we will complete the "challenge" (@ 6PM on 11/5/09) for anyone left in the competition and have a party following.
If I choose the 100 pullups can i use the band? Or is there no scaling?

ReplyDeleteJust did an away from home WOD: 400 meter run 20 burpies 4 rounds 19:43 at the Wyndham Gettysburg. I am going to try the burpies. Maybe double-unders after.

ReplyDeleteAMRAP in 20 minutes of:
5 pullups
10 pushups
15 squats
21 rounds + 5 pullups + 5 pushups (PR by 6 rounds)
also, going to do the burpees since I might not have a pullup bar or jumprope available each day. Burpee 1: done.
awesome work by Jen S and Jill. They both fought thru it and didnt quit!!
ReplyDeleteMike & Chris, way to get it done on the road. Never an excuse to miss a WOD! Just get some!
ReplyDeleteChris, that is an impressive nuber of rounds for Cindy. Awesome job on the one burpee too!!
