CrossFit KoP Mobility Class is BACK!
Learn how to develop effective mobility and flexibility strategies, improve force production, increase work outputs, avoid common and preventable movement dysfunction and injury, and understand how to address simple performance related myo-fascial and joint mobility issues.
Stiff muscles? Limited range of motion? Join Jeff on Mondays for 30 minutes AFTER the 4:30PM and 5:30PM classes for a Mobility Class. We’ll work on stretching, joint mobility, and using foam rollers, lacrosse balls and walls to help increase your range of motion and decrease pain. Each week the Mobility Class will focus on different sets of joints and movements. Classes are free for members and will be starting on Monday 2/7 and reoccur every Monday from 5:30 to 6:00PM and then 6:30 to 7:00PM.
Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteyay! i am glad we are doing this.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are doing this, but unfortunately I have school monday nights and won't be able to make it.
ReplyDeleteAnyone new to crossfit that is unsure the importance of mobility work, can learn a lesson from ym mistake.
I wasn't that big on mobility work, and after about a year of crossfitting I had tweek in my hip that just got worse and worse. I had to back off of training and was afraid that I might need to take significant time off. It was horrifying. Really thought that my crossfit career might be over. The pain was excrutiating.
My (very smart and sexy) doctor prescribed some hip stretches that I now do religiously after every workout. The pain has almost gone away completely, AND I am getting stronger.
You might not think that mobility work is as sexy as a kipping pullup, or a heavy clean. But trust me, it's the most important part of the workout. If you don't stretch and roll your muscles will get tighter and tighter as they get stronger, until finally they are so tight that you can't move wihout being in pain.
So, you can wait until you have that pain (like many of us have), or you can go to Jeff's mobility session and learn how to do some preventative maintenance on yourself. You don't wait until your engine seizes up to change the oil do you?
