Drowning is quick and silent, a child can drown in as little as one inch of water. Click here to check out ISR and take the steps necessary to safeguard your child.

CrossFit Kids initiatives:
CrossFit Kids supports Infant Drowning Resource. On a personal level we have enrolled Chloe to start on 4/30 locally in ISR; I am in conversations to get two trainers in our community certified to teach our CF kids how to save themselves.

CrossFit KoP is also one of the six affiliates world wide supporting the launch program of SAT Prep. Contact Aimee with questions on this program, it will run on Monday's at 5:30PM next date is 4/23.

Mark your calendar for the Workout for HOPE on June 9th to benefit St. Judes. We will most likely pair up with the larger community on this or host at our box. Keep your eyes open for details.

We will soon have a donation bucket for "coins" for Kenya to help build the CrossFit Schools in Africa.

  5. Regional Wods come out today! I predict high intensity functional movements combined with gymnastics skills and endurance.

I hope there are no kb swings!!

  6. I predict more creativity this year for regionals. I.e. buddy carries, all six athletes having to participate, relay runs, relay rows, relays followed by max effort deads or squat cleans. I think the skills will be rope climbs, MU's, pistols and HSPU's. I also believe we will see longer time domains considering they are moving up the start times of the first heats as compared to last year. I def think heavy KB swings and thrusters will be in play and maybe a DB snatch.

  8. It would be nice to see some good ole fashioned CF workouts in here. In the beginning, it was traditional movements performed at ultra high intensity and I would like to see that back. I feel that happened in the open. It catered to the generalist but the fittest are still on top, i.e. Froning and Clever.

I have made the argument that with the heavy weight, CF has broken down the 33/33/33 ratio of weightlifting/gymnastics/monostructural and has begun to favor the weightlifter. The Open Sectionals did not do that so I liked them but it may have gone to far to the other side. If the weights get heavier, it only makes sense to make the gymnastics component equally as difficult, say iron cross hold or something where a big man is just going to get punished.

I would love a Regionals with ALL girl workouts, similar to the last WOD in Carson last year.

  10. Based on some of the odd stuff they added to the games last year, I'm going to guess a Triplet WOD: Football punt, wrestle a bear, plane jump - no parachute.
