Who is Ann Cooper:
Ann Cooper has a frontline view of the daily battle to keep kids healthy -- and of the enemy, the processed-foods industries that, it sometimes seems, want to wrap every single thing that children eat in a fried coating and then a plastic bag. As the director of nutrition services for the Berkeley (California) Unified School District, she's an outspoken activist for serving fresh, sustainable food to kids.

Her lively website, LunchLessons.org, rounds up recipes, links, and resources for food activism.

She's the author of several books, including Bitter Harvest, an examination of the food chain, and her latest, Lunch Lessons: Changing the Way We Feed Our Children.

  3. I love me some crossfit Kop that leads me to my wish list item...

I have friends who I want to come an try xfit, however I don't think they will schedule an intro session on ther own and I think they need to participate in a regular class to get the full thrill.... Would love it if there were 1 or more wods a month that could be open to all, no charge for first time guests.

Aim & Jason you have built an amazing community, I'm here cheering on it's growth for your success and for the success crossfit can offer each individual that walks through those doors in every facet of their lives!

  7. Thanks Jerry, my pleasure! You guys made it fun!

Just for fun, here's the WOD that we did for team training last night. We wanted to work specific skills we hadn't touched in a while, and incorporate some elements we'd seen on mainpage and regional WODs.

Team of 4, 2 ppl working at a time.
    (L = 1 length of KOP gym)
    For time:
    10 L backwards jog
25 MU (NS/JW/MV)+10 ring dips (LP)
    8 L OH barbell walk (95/135)
    75 front squats (95/135)
    6 L burpee long jump
    75 ground to overhead (95/135)
    4 L handstand walk
    75 C2B pullups

    Time: 16:39
