Fight Gone Bad. The ultimate WOD. I will be dreaming about you.
Great article!
ReplyDeleteI unforunately have enough booty for everyone, so if you are trying to get it bigger, come talk to me! Ha, lol...I do have a hard time finding shirts now, jeans...ha, thats a whole other story...:-)
Thanks for the article...I really appreciate the writers perspective. As a woman its so hard to not get caught up in the whole "size" issue. I dont own a scale and i refuse to step on a scale. Since crossfit I think I have a healthier outlook on my body image. Its not about being a size "4" but being able to strive for 200# deadlift.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciated that article... I've been lifting alot more recently - in CrossFit and outside too - and I've put on about 4-5 lbs. It's hard to not be bothered by the numbers, but I just keep reminding myself that the numbers dont mean anything! It's all about how strong and healthy I feel, and I feel great!
ReplyDeleteOn another note - keep your fingers crossed for rain tonite! I have an ultimate frisbee game at 6 but I really want to try this WOD so I'm hoping the game will be rained out!!
Speaking of ultimate frisbee. We should get a xfit KOP ultimate frisbee game together some day soon. Maybe we could do an outside WOD somewhere and get a game together afterwards. Anyone interested?
ReplyDeleteIm in Tim. I
ReplyDeleteve been lagging in the WODs lately Ill be there for this one tonight. Cant wait
Good Luck everybody on FGB. It's very cool doing a killer workout like that amongst the support of all the family, so go hard and let it all hang out. I am very sad I am missing this with you.
ReplyDeleteTim and Laura's florida modified WOD from the "Away From Home" wods posted on the Aimees blog main page. Had to take out the situps and replace with the jacks.

I feel the addiction starting...i just rearranged my night to come to class!
ReplyDeleteIn American society we are constantly haunted by the image of the skinny bitch on the cover of all the glossy magazines Vogue, Elle, InStyle, W Mag; PEOPLE Mag always tells us who's too Fat, who's too skinny, no one ever talks about who is strong? who will live longer?! What peoples vitals are? What do you think those girls Max Pullups are? Their Deadlift? Could most of them even do a squat? Let alone a push-up? And that's what America wants us to see as the image of beauty? Valor? Strength? Appropriate size? ...NOT so much. For myself, pre-CrossFit Aimee, I used to work in an industry where being the right size, wearing the right clothes and looking good was almost as important as doing your job well. Needless to say, with CrossFit those are certainly not my concerns any longer, I'd much rather be have a better strength day, WOD time or new PR then fit back into size 0 pants. Strong Women are beautiful…to all my beautiful strong CFKoP ladies; you rock, keep training hard and reaching new goals everyday!! You all amaze me daily and give me more dimension in my life than I thought possible!!
ReplyDeletei gained 6 pounds in the last two months despite losing another belt loop so the scale lies, unless it says your 400 pounds in which case, you probably need to come to class more often. :)
ReplyDeleteAimee - couldn't have said it better myself! You really are a great motivator! I never was a size 0 and will never be - oh well! And Miranda..about that booty..let me know your secret!
ReplyDeleteMeighan, you rocked it tonight girl! Very intense and totally committed. That is the true path to success in this game. Also, thanks for pushing me along to a new PR. I know that you got at least an extra 20 reps out of me overall, and that made the difference.
ReplyDeletemeighan is a great motivator. i will give her that much. maybe a kick sometime as well. :)
ReplyDeletei give mad props to the first class. it was hot as the depths of hell in that gym when the sun was beaming in and the fan was resting in the off position. good work pushing through the pain and diverse workout environment.
Geez, Jason. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteRay it was awesome being your partner! You stuck with me and helped me alot! I wasn't going to let you quit....each time I knew you had one more!
