Footprints in the sand:
One night I had a dream
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life
for each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belong to me and the other to the lord
when the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand
I noticed that many times along the path of my life
there was only one set of footprints,
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life
This really bothered me and I questioned the lord about it.
Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me,
but I have noticed during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only set of footprints
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you only saw one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you"

As I struggled through the last round I needed a little motivation to finish strong, so I said Paul's name at the end of the last rep of each movement. That one was for you Paul.
Rest in Peace and thank you.
Lisa, we're here for you. I'm so impressed you were able to do this workout.
ReplyDeleteOur deepest sympathy on your loss. It's always a shame to lose a true hero, a policeman. Coming from a "box" that has policeman training in it, it always hits home to lose of our own. WOD as R/X'd-11:04. All are in our prayers. Anthony Oliver(Chicago Police) Bulldog Crossfit

ReplyDeleteI love you birthday girl. My deepest sympathy to Lisa.
Lisa and CF KOP, please accept my deepest regret for the loss of a great American, a Police Officer, a husband. I often wonder WTF is this world coming too. It makes me angry that Policemen, Firefighters, and emergency responders have to deal with war on our own turf. As a US Marine, I understand your pain having lost many people close to me in the war. Lisa, you will be in our prayers.
